Overview

This guide will walk you through connecting your M365 Exchange Online account to the Mail App in iOS on your iPhone. The process should be largely the same on iPad. Future iOS releases may vary slightly.

Steps

Step 1.0 - Add M365 Mail Account to iOS Mail App

Open Settings.

Scroll through the settings until you find Mail. Tap on it once you find it.

Select Accounts.

Tap Add Account.

Select Microsoft Exchange from the list.

Enter your full email address and then tap Next.

You will be asked if you want to sign in to your account using Microsoft. Tap Sign In.

On the next prompt click Continue.

This will bring you to the M365 sign-in page. Your email address should already be passed through from the settings. You need to enter your M365 password. Then click Sign in.

You may be asked if you want to save your password. This is up to you. We tapped Not Now in this guide.

You should get an MFA prompt. You will have to enter this in your Microsoft Authenticator App, which will prompt you.

Once you have finished the MFA prompt, you should be back in the settings, and it should be finishing its final verification.

Once you are authenticated, you should get checkmarks. It should show this for a couple seconds and move on to the next screen automatically.

Now you can choose what to sync with your M365 account. Disable anything you don’t want synced and click Save.

Step 2.0 - Add M365 Mail Account to Outlook App

Tap on Add Account.

Tap on Skip if other accounts are found.

Enter your email address, and after finishing, tap on Add Account.

When prompted, tap on Open Authenticator.

Enter your email address, and after finishing, tap on Sign in.

If you have not setup the Microsoft Authenticator app before, you’ll receive the this prompt (otherwise if you didn’t receive this prompt, skip to step 2.13).

At this prompt, tap on Next.

You’ll then get prompted to setup the Microsoft (MS) Authenticator app.

If you haven’t downloaded the app before, you can tap Download now.

Once it’s installed, tap on Next.

Tap on Next.

You’ll then get a pop-up to enter the number shown on your screen.

Enter the number shown on your device, and then tap Yes.

If successful, you’ll receive another screen where you tap Next.

Tap on Done.

Your account has been successfully added! Tap on Maybe Later to complete the process.
