Overview

How to Download, install and configure Filecloud Sync for macOS

Scope of This How To Article

This how to guide applies to FileCloud Sync App, macOS 10.14

Prerequisites and Requirements

  • Operating System: macOS 10.14 (Mojave) at minimum. Please See NoW 365 oFS - System Requirements for more information

  • Files for synchronization must be on a physically attached disk.

  • Your assigned Server URL Address.

Other Notes

  • oneFileSync (Powered by FileCloud) is a part of the NoW 365 Digital Workspace

  • This guide provides basic deployment of File Cloud Sync

  • This guide has been tested under macOS 10.15 (Catalina)

Step 1.0 - Download FileCloud Sync for macOS

Launch Safari or your favorite browser and search for FileCloud Downloads

Look for FileCloud Downloads from https://www.filecloud.com

Scroll down to the FileCloud Sync section, Click Download for FileCloud Sync for Mac

Launch the installer

Drag the FileCloud Sync App and drop it into the Applications

Launch FileCloud Sync APP

By Default, FileCloud Root Sync Folder will be Users->Username->FileCloud (Basically in the home Folder)

  1. Enter your assigned Server URL starting with https://

  2. Enter Account login name

  3. Enter Password

  4. Click Login

  1. Select Sync everything (default), or you can select Sync only selected folders.

  2. Click the Next Arrow Button

If you have selected Sync everything skip to 3.9


If you have selected Sync only selected folders, please continue to the next step 3.6

Click Add Folders

FileCloud Separates User Files (My Files), and Team Shares. By default, it is recommended that you at minimum add My Files to sync everything within your private folder.

  1. Select My Files

  2. Click Select

FileCloud will sync all the content within the selected folders to your local drive. Notice the > ? you can use this to expand the folder.

If your organization uses Team Shares, then you can add the folders accordingly.

  1. The selected folder from the previous step will appear on the list.

  2. Click Add Folders to add additional folders to sync as required (e.g. Team Shares/Folders)

    Proceed to the next step when ready

  1. Select Do Not save backup to FileCloud

  2. Click the Next button

You should be able to see the FileSync Window. If not, no worries, you can always click the FileCloud Sync Icon at the top, and then click Open

Step 4.0 - Access your FileCloud Folder

There are two ways to do this, first is by clicking the folder icon. This will open the finder and take you inside your FileCloud Folder. Go ahead and click it.

Notice My Files folder?. Everything inside the My Files folder is not shared by default. Every licensed user of File Cloud will have their own My Files folder.

The other folder Team Folders will only show up if you have selected it

The other way to get to your FileCloud home folder is by

  1. Open the finder

  2. Click Go

  3. Select Home

  4. Open FileCloud Folder


Do not get confused with the FileCloudSyncData, this folder is used by the APP For settings, configuration and tracking purposes.
