Step 5.0 - Online and Offline Access

4.1

After setting up your FileCloud Desktop on a new system or existing system, by default, all existing files and folders on your FileCloud site can be immediately accessed without syncing (Granted you internet is working, and have sufficient permissions.) This saves a lot of time and storage space from syncing (downloading all the files for the first time). Super beneficial for slower internet connections and systems with storage capacity issues.

Please proceed to the next step

image-20251002-184204.png

4.2

What if the internet goes down? Since by default access is online (no downloading required), you will lose the ability to access your files should and when your internet goes down.

However, with Offline access, you have the ability to work on your files offline should and when your internet goes down or when access is generally not available.
