Is NoW 365 oFS (oneFileSync) same as FileCloud?

In the guides, you’ll find references to NoW 365. NoW 365 oneFileSync (oFS) Powered by FileCloud is a part of the NoW 365 Digital Workspace.

Is NoW 365 oFS (oneFileSync) same as oneWorkspace 365

It is a component of oneWorkspace 365.

oneWorkspace 365 includes various components that make up your digital workspace experience.

How do you access or manage files in NoW 365 oFS?

You can access and manage your files and file shares through the Web Portal or the oFS apps.

How does NoW 365 oneFileSync stack up against platforms like Dropbox, Box, OneDrive, and Google Drive?

Hosted and operated by a Canadian Company in Canada, with data residing in Canadian Data Centers only.

 

What kind of compliance framework does NoW 365 oFS (oneFileSync) support?

Supports ITAR, GDPR, HIPAA, NIST 800-171, and the Saudi Arabian PDPL. Must be enabled to meet the required security and sharing configurations.

When is a license required?

Every internal user should have a license.

When is a license not required?

External users don’t require a license, but they their abilities are limited.

Are external users unlimited?

Yes, you can have unlimited number of external users.

Can multiple users share one user account?

From a technical perspective, oFS does not prevent multiple users from accessing the same account at the same time. However, doing so can cause synchronization issues especially when users operate on different platforms (Mac or Windows) and may make troubleshooting more complex or create security and compliance concerns. This configuration is not recommended, and support may be limited in such cases.

What is the cost of an additional license?

Are there different types of user access?

3 Types (Full, Guest and External)

Users with Full or Guest access privileges must have a NoW 365 OneFileSync license. External users do not require a license. For more details, see the link below.

How do you access and manage NoW 365 oFS in general?

You can access, manage file shares using the Web Portal, or using the Desktop APPs and Mobile APPs

What is my oneFileSync Web Portal URL/Address?

Your portal web URL should have been provided by your IT Support provider. If you don’t have the address, please reach out to your IT support for more information.

It should be in the format of https://mysitename-onefilesync.now365.io

There are different FileCloud Apps, which one should I use?

FileCloud Drive

  • Ideal for users with limited local storage space.

  • Designed for online access to files.

FileCloud Sync

  • Best for users with sufficient local storage.

  • Designed for offline access, keeping files available locally.

FileCloud Desktop

  • A hybrid application combining features of both FileCloud Drive and FileCloud Sync supporting both online and offline access.

  • Not recommended for Windows at this time, as it remains in beta.

FileCloud Server Sync

  • Windows-only application, designed specifically for synchronizing with file servers.

Does the service include backup?

The NoW 365 oFS service is backed up to ensure service continuity; however, tenants are responsible for protecting their own files and data. An optional backup service is available for customers who wish to enhance data protection, similar to the approach used in Microsoft 365, please contact your IT support provider or contact us for details if you are a direct customer.
