Launch FileCloud

Go to your files or folders that you want to share with an internal or external user. For this example, we will be sharing files under My Files.

For this example, we will share an entire folder. Click on the … Ellipses for the folder that you want tshare

  1. Tap Share

  1. Optional: Change the share name, recommend leaving it the same

  2. Optional: You can set your link expiration date here

  3. Optional: You can set the upload size limit. This only applies to users with full share permission (Read, Write)

  4. Optional: By default it is on, recommend you leaving it

  5. For Sharing Permission, tap Edit

  1. Select Allow selected users or groups

  2. Tap Save

Tap Invite Users

Enter the user’s email address

  1. Make sure send email is checked

  2. Tap Add users to this share

Once clicked, oFS FileCloud will do the following in the background.

  1. It will send a welcome email to the external user if it is the first time sharing with the external user.

  2. It will also send a File Share Link to the external user.

The next 3 steps demonstrate what the receiving end / external user should expect.

 

The recipient of the file share / external user will receive 2 emails

1. Welcome email

  1. File Share link

The external user will not be able to access the file share link until the welcome process is completed.

The welcome email should look similar to this.

The external user will need to click on the link, using the indicated email and temp password. Once signed in oFS FileCloud will require the user to change their temp password
