---|---|---|
1.1 | Go to https://cp.poweredbynirix.com and login with your account. | |
1.2 | Click on Customers from the menu bar. | |
1.3 | Find the customer who is requesting the new user. We will use Company ABC Demo in this example, as it is our test company. Click on the company to expand the options. | |
1.4 | Click on Users from the Customer Functions menu. | |
41.5 | Ensure you are in the correct Customer. Click on New User in Management. | |
51.6 | In User Details we can enter the required information. UPN: Enter the requested UPN. This should match the primary email address. On the right you can see the default domain. Some customers have multiple domains, make sure to select the requested one. The UPN is what users will use to log into our services. Username: This will automatically be entered based on the UPN. Once it has been made, this cannot be changed. First Names: Enter the users first name. They can also use a second first name, or an initial John Paul or John P. for example. Last Name: Enter the user's last name. Display Name: This will be automatically be entered based on the first and last name, but can be edited. For example, if the account is for a receptionist, you can have the first and last name be John and Smith, but the username can be Reception. This is the name that will show up on emails. | |
There are Additional User Properties as well. Several customers have signatures with us, and they pull information from the user's Active Directory Account. This is where you enter that information. You can check other user's Additional User Properties to see what is filled out, and confirm them for your new user with the customer's NIRIX Admin. There are several fields to enter. Common ones are Phone, Title, Fax etc. We won't be covering this further as it's very situational. | ||
6 | In Password Configuration, enter a password under Password and Confirm Password. To see requirements press the symbol beside Confirm Password. | |
1.7 | In Account Settings you can take the defaults or set it as the customer requests. Do not set the Change Password at Logon to Yes. Depending on the service they use, this may cause them to not be able to log on at all. | |
1.8 | In Email Addresses click Add | |
1.9 | Enter their Name (make sure it matches their UPN) and select the correct Domain. This example will give John.Smith@companyabcdemo.com as their email. Once done, click Update. | |
91.10 | You can add an additional email address by clicking Add again. Then you can fill in another email address. You can only set one address as the Primary. The Primary address will be the one that recipients will see. All others addresses will be Aliases, which are not full mailboxes, but addresses that will route incoming mail to the Primary Mailbox. Once done, click Update. Repeat this step until all addresses are entered. | |
101.11 | Once finished, click Provision. This will build the user profile on the server. If you make any changes after this you must click on Provision again. | |
111.12 | Once the user has been provisioned, you will be brought to the User Services screen. This is where we provision services for the customer. The user profile has been made at this point, but they cannot log in to or use any services. This will continue in How to - Provision Services to Users in oCCP |
