Now 365 DRaaS - Quick Starter Guide
Overview
This starter guide introduces basic backup concepts, best practices, backup and alarm settings, and additional tips to help customers effectively manage the NoW 365 DraaS service.
1.0.0 - Best Practices
The 3-2-1 backup rule is a widely recommended strategy for data backup. It is designed to ensure that your data is safe and can be recovered in case of failure, loss, or corruption. The rule can be summarized as:
3 copies of your data: Keep at least three copies of your data — the original file and two backups.
2 different media types: Store these copies on at least two different types of storage media (e.g., external hard drives, cloud storage, USB drives, etc.).
1 offsite backup: Keep one backup offsite or in the cloud to protect against physical disasters (such as fires, floods, or theft) that could affect your primary and local backup storage.
By following the 3-2-1 rule, you significantly reduce the chances of losing your data due to a hardware failure or unforeseen event.
