NIRIX DNS Record Reference Guide - MX/SPF/SRV

Overview

The following guide is for reference only. Please refer to your Hosting Provider’s support page for up to date information.

NIRIX SPF Record

A Sender Policy Framework (SPF) is a DNS record that is set on your Domain. It identifies servers that are allowed to send emails on behalf of your domain. If a sending server is not authorized through the SPF record, it could be treated as spam, or even outright rejected. If you are using NIRIX’s email service, you will need to add include:spf.poweredbynirix.com to your existing SPF record:

For Example:

v=spf1 include:spf.poweredbynirix.com -all

If you have any questions about SPF records, contact your domain registrar. Our help desk can give insight and advice into SPF records if needed, but will not be able to make DNS changes on your domain.

NIRIX SRV Autodiscover Record

The SRV Autodiscover record allows mail applications to be configured using DNS records, and is required for setting up Outlook. The setting has to resolve to _autodiscover._tcp.(your domain name). For example, if your domain is companyabcdemo.com, it would resolve to:

_autodiscover._tcp.companyabcdemo.com
